i bought a new pc i have intel core 2 duo 2gb of ram 3.0ghz 160gb hard disk sata intel express chipest 3d card 765mb running games ver slow it loads game well but when the game start it started to slow

Solution
As it was using your pc resources to run your your graphics. As such it slowed down your pc. Not only that but programs running in the back ground can also cause a slow down as well. Especially if your graphics are using your ram as your pc only has 2 gigs it can easily cause a slow down. And its why i suggest upgrading your ram.

Unfortunately, it's because your system, by todays standards, is old, and does not have enough power to play the games properly. Most games require a good quadcore CPU and a decent graphics card. Although, you will be able to play some older games with decent settings, anything new will not play well, if at all.

couple of questions, when did you buy this new computer? Also what OS are you using? chances are if your using vista or 7 the OS is eating alot of your system resources to begin with. Also, make sure you have the most up-to-date drivers installed.

I had to do some digging into the Intel express 3d card (its been a while since i heard that chipset)....if that really is the graphics processing that you are using, you will need to upgrade that as quickly as possible (your bottleneck is here.) Tom's has a nice hierarchy so that you can compare power to price

Graphics Card Hierarchy Char

Hope this helps

Since when do games "require" a quad core cpu? From what i see most games "require" a dual core not a quad. Not that a quad will not play it better. But i have not seen many if there are any that "require" a quad core cpu. In some system recommendations i see they recommend a quad cpu. But not really seen any quads being the bare minimum to play the game.

And yeah a better video card and if your mobo can take higher sticks of ram. 4 gigs max for 32 bit operating systems and 8 gigs for 64 bit operating systems is really the norm almost when it comes to setting up a gaming cpu. So upping your ram and your video card will give you a bigger boost in gaming. Outside of that you are looking at either buying a new pc or building a new one.

Get of your high horse dude! Try reading what I wrote in the context of the post ' Most games require a good quadcore CPU and a decent graphics card, Although, you will be able to play some older games with decent settings, anything new will not play well, if at all.'
I clearly say most games, meaning anything new like BF3, COD, Borderlands 2, Batman Arkham City.....just to name a few, including most DX10 and more particularly DX 11 games will require a decent quadcore to have a chance of playing those games at a good resolution and say medium to high setings. I know, from personal experience. I have a Q6600 at 3.0ghz, and yes it plays most games well, but not quite the way I would like....smooth high res, and high settings. And anything new, like Crysis 3, and the upcoming BF4, will be hogs, hardware wise. The tech the OP is using is 5 years old, as is my own so I think, I'm being farily accurate with my post., Don't you?

Thanks.

Input Devices: 100 per cent Windows XP/Vista or 7 compatible mouse and keyboard
Recommended System Requirements

No high horse just pointing out the facts. A quad may give a bit more fps in games but it is no means a "requirement" as you say. So no it is not accurate when you word it with "Most games require a good quadcore CPU". And we are a few more years away from quad core cpu's becoming a system requirement. That doesn't mean you won't benefit from a quad core. But it is by no means a requirement to play most games at a decent frame rate.

Game developers try to keep system specs low to make their game available to a larger game population as not all gamers can afford the best system specs. If they tried to market their games to players who only have the best specs they would quickly go bankrupt. As there are not that many people out there that could just drop down that money any time they wish. So i would safely wager that quad core requirements being used for games is still a few more years away when the technology becomes much cheaper.

Your simply deluded. Those minimum specs your outlined are exactly that, and play those games at the lowest settings on even a medium res of 16 x10.

If you can't see that its the dated system holding back play-ability your blind. Sorry to be so blunt.

The OP is wondering why his games are playing slow. I've told him. Best wishes with your trolling.

No trolling just pointing out that you are not speaking with all the facts. You say that you can not run a game nowadays without a good quad core. Obviously that is wrong. And you can increase performance with games in most circumstances by just a video card upgrade so long as the cpu will not bottleneck the gpu. So again a quad core is not needed. Now if you look to push a system to its max and you have a lot of money to throw out the window then yes you can go with a quad core and a high end graphics card.

It comes down to what you need and what you can afford. In many cases you can get by with a gpu upgrade so long as it does not bottleneck by the cpu. That is the cheapest route. Now if you do not have a low to medium level budget then going with a quad and a power house gpu is an option. A cheaper cpu and a more powerful gpu gives better performance over an expensive cpu and a cheap gpu.

But i do love how you try to get it personal. I am just pointing out all the information as accurately as possible. You on the other hand are throwing out generalizations with only half the information needed to make an informed decision. You claim that games have higher system requirements then they actually do. False information benefits no one.

Yawn!!....

Anyway if the OP is still interested...My guess is you bought something like the Lenovo ThinkCenter which uses Intel GMA 4500 which I think steals up to 765MB from your system ram, meaning shared. You have a Core 2 Duo 3.0ghz which may be an E6850 or E8400. I bet your PSU is 280W or 300W. Check it in your specs, check to see if you have any open RAM slots and whether they are DDR3. Check to see if you have an open PCI-E 2.0 x16 slot.

I bet you could grab a Geforce GT240 and a stick of 2GB RAM for under $150 and have a computer that will play DirectX10 games decently. The GT240 draws 70watts. If you want something more you will most likely need a new PSU unless I am dead wrong about what you have got there.

Just check your PSU, RAM type(DDR3 for example) and whether you have an open x16 PCI-E slot.

Is there an open X16 PCI-Express Slot? Is there a couple open RAM slots or at least one?

It may be easier if you could identify the system you bought or your motherboard.

DDR2 has different speeds so it would be good to know what you have installed already. (800 or 667Mhz for example)

If your not trying to run the newest games at highest settings and you have open slots for a video card and ram you could make a simple upgrade that will allow you to modestly play most current games.

Example of an upgrade

Radeon HD7750(Says 400w PSU needed but your 350W will do it) $99.99

One stick of DDR2 2GB $32.99

Ram and a gpu upgrade will see your gaming improved quite a lot. Most games are gpu dependent so as long as your cpu does not bottleneck your gpu a gpu upgrade will see great returns. And you should be using at least 4 gigs of ram if your windows is 32 bit and 8 gigs if it is 64 bit for gaming.

I agree with zolton33. You don't need a quad core to enjoy gaming. Unless you want to upgrade your PSU I think that ati 7750 is the best you can do but you will be enjoying games like Crysis Warhead, Crysis 2, Skyrim, Farcry 2, Fallout 3/ New Vegas. I try to stay behind the times myself, so I can enjoy games for cheaper.

I would add, you may want to just grab 4 gigs of ram that will be sure to allow you to benefit from dual-channel. Just be sure that your motherboard can support 800mhz memory.

2x2GB sticks for $56

I know it is annoying that you just bought the computer and you will have to upgrade but $156 is the best I can come up with.

What does anyone else think?

Yeah the 4 gigs if his can run it at those speeds would help a lot. If he has windows 64 though i'd suggest 8 gigs. The video card will definitely push their system a bit. And both of these you will see a big performance increase from right away.

I know it's a 2013 thread and I'll talk like I'm in 2013. But keith12, what the fuck man? Literally, what the actual fuck are you talking about? For your information, Battlefield 3 can be played on Ultra on a Core 2 Duo E8400. And I even played myself Batman Arkham City on all graphics maxed with 50FPS on a Core 2 Duo E7500. You talk about your Q6600 like it's an i7-7700k vs a Core 2 Duo. No game requires a Core 2 Quad to play in 2013. All games can be played on a Core 2 Duo. And minimum requirements means the required specs for 720p with Low graphic settings for 60FPS (most of the games). With my Core 2 Duo E7500 I've played GTA 4 all Ultra, Assassin's Creed 3 High, NFS Most Wanted 2012 Ultra, Crysis 1 Ultra, Just Cause 2 Ultra, Dead Island Riptide Ultra, PES 2013 Ultra (speaking as of 2017 - I can even run PES 2017 on Ultra). So tell me rich boy - where is your quad core requirement? Stop posting false bullshit if you don't know shit about how to run a game, you've might said false bullshit to more than 100 people since 2013 from now
