OK so i have an Acer aspire 5560g, it came with win 7 home premium 64 bit installed. however i tried installing Ubuntu (Linux operating system) to my external hdd (intenso 2.5 500gb). however i tried it first and then tried to install it on the external. it wouldn't install, so i abandoned it. when I next rebooted to go on windows i received this message:

Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. to fix his problem:
1. Insert your windows recovery disc and restart your PC.
2. choose your language settings then click next
3. click repair your PC
If you don't have this contact your system admin or PC manufacturer for assistance

Ok. You need to reinstall windows (this solution will erase any data on your hard drive):

This help you to recover the operating sistem:
1. Power on the machine
2. At the white ACER BIOS screen, hold the “Alt” key and press the “F10” key simultaneously to start Acer eRecovery
3. Once eRecovery has loaded, click “Restore to Factory Default Settings”
4. Click “OK” to continue
5. From here, the eRecovery process will update all the data on the C: drive and restore a fully functional factory image (approximately 10 minutes).
6. Once eRecovery has run, press “OK” to reboot unit
