any z77 Mobo work with Pro-tools LE 8/9

I have been trying to buid a new computer for my studio, I tried the asus P87zz-v lk I5-3470 with 1 stick of 8G ram, I had to RMA 2 boards USB kept dropping out, I'm running win 7 x64 with pro-tools LE 8.0.5 and the short time it did work about 1 minute into the song the music started to distort. Doas anyone have any recommendations, I've looked on avid/digidesigns website but it hasn't been updated in over a year. I would appreciate any help

Maybe it's just because the sound card is poor... Because I really don't see any problem in your configuration. Also, your CPU only have Intel HD 2500, wich is not made for that kind of things. So I recommend getting a sound card
