I purchased my components and got my computer all hooked up. However, now when I'm performing the POST I'm getting the "memory not detected" error from the motherboard.

I checked the QVL from Asus and saw that some of my components were not on there. Is that likely the problem I'm facing with the memory not being detected and could anyone suggest what I would need to fix this problem? I'm fairly new to building computers so anything will help. Thanks!
Edit: I have been looking for solutions and figured out that I might need to update the BIOS before the FX-6300 will be recognized. Could that be the problem?
