I am building a new machine for gaming and video editing, the games I will be playing the most are WoW and Dayz. I plan on using a program such as sony vegas to edit with. My question is which intel chip I should go with between the Intel Core i5-3570K or the Intel Core i7-3770K. Would the 3770k make that much of a difference with its hyper threading or will I see minimal improvements over the 3570k, should I spend the extra 100 dollars or put it somewhere else in the system? My spending limit on the pc is 1700.00 any advice would be great ty :bounce:

It really depends on how much video editing you do. If it is as much or more than you game, stay with the 3770k. The hyperthreading does make a significant different when dealing with media and encoding, etc. It video editing is something you only do occasionally and it will be mostly used for gaming, save the $100 and go with the 3570k, put the extra towards a better graphics card.

gtx 660ti is the card that I currently have planned for the build, will also be running 16gb of ram, 128gb ssd for the os and a game or so (add another later if I get more games) and a 3tb hdd for video storage space.
