I'm willing to do the following upgrade. Phenom II X6 1075T to FX-8350(Piledriver).
ATM, i've got the following setup:
Asus M5A97-Pro mobo
4gb DDR3 (1666 or 1333 Mhz, don't remember)
Radeon HD6870 DirectCUII
and an old Hard Drive which will be replaced soon by an SSD.
It's not much, I use it for casual gaming(Flight Simulator X is one of the games that goes harder on the computer), a little photoshop here and there, guitar recording and some music production, and finally for ArcMap, AutoCAD etc... mapping stuff.
Also, I have a Cooler Master Hyper212, so overclocking is possible. The stock cpu fan was a load of crap.
I've read reviews on the fx8350, some give thumbs up, some give thumbs down, meh, i'm not sure what to do.
I want to upgrade to an 8 core. Is it worth buying it now(Piledriver), or should I wait for the Steamroller?
I'm looking for a little increase in fps, overclocking, futureproofing and overall performance increase. I know I don't really need it, but I feel like tossing some money in my PC, lol.
