ok so here goes...

me and a bunch of friends were partitioning our disks to dual boot OSs.
without knowing we converted my pc's hard drive to a dynamic type.
now i couldn't boot into windows as my C: drive had become dynamic and i had no data backed up...after hours of playing with the command line in system recovery tools i finally managed to boot up my windows.
(im backing up my data as i type this.)

now how do i convert my disk to a basic one? i tried all the softwares but they dont work as my dynamic disk has partitions and they only work on a single volume.

if i cannot convert how do i wipe my hard drive and reinstall windows?
my entire disk is dynamic.
so can anyone give me instructions on how to wipe my drive and convert it back to basic?
i cannot do it inside windows as my windows is installed on the disk.

and another question

right now i'm using windows in-built back up for my c drive.

so when i re-install windows can i use this back up even though it was backed up from a dynamic disk ?

and i would probably be changing the partition sizes so can i still use the back up file on the new partition size?
