First off i just want to say that i love this site and have been using it for a long time for any computer problems and to gain knowledge.

Here is my dilemma, i currently have an Asus M4A89GTD_PROUSB3 Motherboard, 8gb (4x2gb) Kingston HyperX Blu, Raidmax Hybrid 630W, and a WD Blue 320 GB HDD.

I was thinking of just putting in an AMD Phenom II x4 955 Black Edition, AMD Radeon HD 7850 2 GB, and a Crucial m4 64GB SSD. Total will be between $370-$400.

I have only used AMD processors for the past 10 years and just want this build to last until next summer when steamroller will be out.

Here are my questions/concerns:
1.) Will the processor bottleneck the graphics card to a great extent?
2.) Can i run newer games at a 1920x1080p resolution with medium-high settings?
3.) The motherboard is able to support Bulldozer processors with beta firmware, would that be a better option (even with all the negative feedback)?

Thanks for your help in advance!

Not that the Phenom-II is a bad CPU (I used to own one) but for a few extra bucks you could get an FX-6100 instead (it's in the list of compatible CPUs for your board). It would give you a more balanced system and should avoid potential bottlenecks.

With a FX-6100 + Radeon 7850 you shouldn't have trouble playing games at 1080p, most of them at max settings.

*** Edit: And I agree with tiny voices, I would skip the SSD for now and save the purchase for your next build. Use the money to get a better PSU maybe, get a brand with a good reputation like Antec, Corsair, Seasonic, etc... You don't want to damage your brand new 7850 by plugging it into a bad PSU.

I was hoping someone would bring up the PSU. I've had it for a long time and just couldnt get myself to replace it since it works, and hasnt given me any problems.

Would this be a better PSU? Corsair CX750

If i remove the ssd i will probably just spring for a 7950.

The fx-6100 is junk and commonly referred to as a failure. The fx-6300 is the way to go.

I would love to go with the fx6300 but it is not support by the motherboard which is why i opted for a phenom II. Currently have a 1090t @ 4ghz and love it, so i assumed any phenom black edition would keep me satisfied.

I agree with both of Tiny Voices' first two posts. The Chokemax PSU-shaped object needs to go before it kills. Tempting it with more powerful parts isn't a good idea.
If that board supports the FX-6300, that's the way to go over the FX-6100.
Edit: must've been typing too slowly...
The $20 Xigmatek Gaia cools within 1C of the Coolermaster Hyper212 EVO, and runs quieter (if that matters; it does to me): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835233082 . The 965BE is $11 more than the 955BE, but I think that's money well spent as you may get better binning and a better OC.

7870 XT or 7870 LE are incredible bang for the bucks right now, or of course the 7950 is even better if you can afford it.

Just don't forget to flash your BIOS before upgrading your CPU to make sure it supports newer versions.

One thing I just noticed though is that all the FX CPUs have the mention "Beta only" in the compatibility list he provided for his board. Also, the FX-6300 isn't listed. That might be a mistake by Asus, like maybe they didn't update the information on their website, or maybe they haven't released a new BIOS version to support them yet. But I would definitely dig this before purchasing a CPU. Maybe contact Asus to make sure it will be compatible.

Another +1. If you've already got a 1090T, that's about as good as you'll get, and in some things (like if you want to record your games) will be notably better than the 965BE.

From my research the fx-6300 is not support with the motherboard, my only option would be a fx-6100. I've read that a 7850 OC'ed performs the same as a 7870.

Well the 1090T is in my current rig, the one i have listed here are just extra parts i have lying around that i want to turn into a budget gaming rig.
