Ok ive had my powercolor 7870 myst edition and loving it. Only con about it is its known issue which is the fan getting loud at full load which i can ignore.

Ive always wanted to sli/cross a card in the past and since i love this card and the value for the price of it im thinking of getting another one. I understand this card can only crossfire with other tahiti le chipped cards like the 7950 and 7970 but would it be best if i choose another powercolor LE / sapphire xt card over a 7950 or even a 7970?

From my understanding, if you get a more powerful card with a lesscard, that stronger card will perform to the likes of the lesser card.

Im hoping to catch the $209 sale on newegg again if it happens again.

Actually no it won't drop your clocks, I wish I could find the review but I believe a 7950/7970 is actually faster than a 7950/7950 however I'm not saying it fast enough to pay the extra $130+ over same card. That being said I picked up another LE card my self so I have two mystic in xfire and I love it but it does sound like my pc is ready for take off but I also play with TV inthe back ground, sound sound PC cranked up and/or with head phones over ts3 so the sounds doesn't bother me.

i lol'd at " it does sound like my pc is ready for take off". Hopefully the myst edition gets the $209 deal again cuz i had to buy my current myst at microcenter.

If it doesnt i might just pick up the other powercolor LE card or the sapphire XT since they run cooler/quieter and currently have better rebates then the regular priced myst.

I also have the PowerColor 7870 Myst in crossfire and the performance is unbelievable. My opinion is grab the PowerColor (they are available on Ebay). Crossfire these beasts and blow away any OC 7970. Yes the fans are loud but I play mostly first person shooters so I crank up the volume or use headphones. I simply don't care about the noise like some do.
