I have looked at a tremendous number of sites trying (unsucessfully) to find a problem similar to mine. I have a Gateway M-7315U laptop runing Vista with all the service packs and updates. I've installed 2 different wireless mice, one by logitech, one by microsoft, both have the tiny USB receivers. Both self installed, and both seemed to work well for the most part, but when I go through the process of placing the laptop into sleep mode and then later "waking" the computer back up, I get a black screen asking me if I want to start Windows normally or give me options to start in safe mode, etc. When I remove the receiver, everything goes back to normal. I even downloaded additional drivers from Logitech, but that didn't change anything. Has anyone else experienced this issue and if so is there a fix?

Hi :)

We have come across this with the new Logitech non driver wireless mice...

Two answers....

1, this MAY work....it MAY not....(as its a Vista problem) .... turn off power saving on the Usb receivers...

2, This WILL work...turn off TOTALLY sleep mode in Vista....

We turn it off to save customers potential problems all the time....

All the best Brett :)

Not being a computer genius or anything, could you lead me by the hand with how to do the two items you suggest, please?

Also.... what happens if I turn off sleep mode? I really don't want to do a complete shut down each time.
