so ive asked this before but dont think i was able to describe it well enough. essentially there will be times while playing games that my fps will plummet for a second every second. it will just go from 50 to 2 to 50 to 2 and etc... i couldn't figure it out so i downloaded msi afterburner to see what was going on. (the game right now is bioshock infinite.

as you can see my core clock is actually jumping between 900 and 200. whats weird is there doesnt seem to be a trigger. my temps are acceptable (this happens even when i first launch the game on a cold pc) as well as it doesn't matter how intense a certain scene is it just starts for no reason (even if im just sitting in a game menu). few notes:
-My drivers are fully updated (this happens across the past 5 or so updates)
-This happens regardless of settings (ultra or low, doesnt matter)
- ive use geforce experience to optimize game settings with no difference
-overclocked, stock clocked, or under clocked makes no difference
-happens on mos games but not all

essentially how ive been dealing with it is ill reboot, and if it still happens reboot again until it doesn't. naturally very annoying.
i believe its a software problem but if you guys think otherwise let me know im pretty stumped. also i was asked this last time so, my pc is clean (from dust i mean) its a new pc but i blew some air in there just in case.

Hmm kind of like its being throttled down to protect itself except the temps stay the same. It isn't by chance something to do with your battery? Maybe battery has bad connection or windows is jumping you from wall power to battery midgame and the gpu is changing to power saving modes? Try taking battery off completely and running off wall power.

yeah the fps drops dramatically completely in sequence with the core clock. i do already have everything set to max

I didnt think about that. im running it now with the battery out so ill see if that makes a difference

have you tried using last stable driver for your system? if this problem only exist on new driver than it is most likely there is something wrong with the new driver. either wait fix from nvidia or you can report your problem to nvidia so they can filed it and test the problem themselves. i just replace my 460 to 660 few days ago so far i haven't seen such behavior in games yet. the only jumping clock i was awasre of is gpu boost for my card.
