Hello guys, I bought a brand new EVGA GTX650 on sale to replace my aging 4890 but I've run into a bit of a pickle...
Here's my system:
ASUS P6T Deluxe
i7
12GB RAM DDR3
1000w PSU
W7 x64
Monitor hooked up with DVI
Step by step I did to replace the card:
- Turn PC off and unplug everything.
- Open it up and remove old card.
- Plug in and install new card.
- Plug everything in and boot it up.
Here's the problem: The computer is booting up perfectly, and so is the card (the fan on the card spins). I can hear the Windows Logon, so everything is fine on that end, but there's nothing showing up on the monitor!!! I tried switching the cables, switching the ports but nothing! I have not touched the driver of the old card, because I assumed it would revert to Windows' default.
But there's a catch: I put the old card back in, and it's also booting up perfectly, everything works (the fan on the card spins) but I'm still not getting an image!
What have I done wrong? I don't suppose I've burned the cards, because both of their fans work when I installed them...
Please shine some light.
Thanks
