I'm looking to purchase a new monitor for my gaming PC. I don't know much about monitors but I'm looking for a 23-24 inch display and based on the research I've done, it will be IPS. I'm on kind of a tight budget for an IPS monitor as I'm hoping to get one for less than $300. About $200 would be ideal.

My specs are:
Core i5-3570k
Gigabyte HD7950 3gb
8gb G.Skill Ripjaws

Again, the monitor will be used almost exclusively for gaming, No video editing, 3d modeling or anything like that. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

PS:
Just came across this one, looks nice, fits within budget. I don't know how to tell if it is IPS except that has an 8ms response time.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks guys

That BenQ monitor is listed as an A-MVA (look at "Display" > "Panel").
Some of them have that listed, but for the ones that don't specify, you can look at these details to figure out the type:
Viewing Angle - TN panels have 170/160, VA panels usually have 176/176, and IPS panels usually have 178/178
Contrast Ratio - ignore anything 10,000:1 or higher, that's dynamic contrast. VA panels can have up to 3000:1 static contrast, TN panels are usually about 1000:1, and IPS panels generally have 800:1 or less (if the manufacturer is being honest).
Response time - often over-hyped and not well standardized, but anything that lists below 5 ms is probably a TN panel.

Alternatively, you can look up the monitor here:
