The LED chassis fans are running, CPU fan is running so i guess that means the mobo is fine. Graphics card is running so yes everything seems to be functioning fully but my issue is that I hear two quick beeps when I turn on my computer and the monitor displays the yellow light for standby. I am also using a VGA to DVI adapter for my monitor as it doesn't have a dvi cord.

I have the asrock pro3 motherboard. I don't know what else to add, if you need any more information I will be glad to give it. thanks

What kind of monitor do you have? It sounds like you are using an older monitor that doesn't have a DVI input or you simply don't have a DVI-DVI cable. Is that correct? If the latter is true then by all means go get a DVI-DVI cable. It won't cost very much. Also make sure that your adapter is the correct type. It MUST be a DVI to VGA adapter(not a VGA to DVI) in order to drive the VGA input to a monitor. Most of those types of adapters are NOT bidirectional.

its the dell in2020 monitor, and I don't know, Im trying the adapter came with the ati 7850 I purchased. I plug the blue vga and then the dvi side into the card if that's what you mean. I put my monitor in dvi mode and it wont do anything and other then that it goes into powet save.

Had this exact issue with a my Older asrock motherboard it would turn on, fans going power up, but would not post. The board did not like the first initial boot with more then one stick of memory. took all memory out only leaving one remaining in the first slot and it booted up just fine. Followed by a shutdown stuck the remaining memory in and the next boot started just fine no problems after that.

I just looked up your Monitor on the dell support site and it looks like you have the version of the monitor that does NOT have a DVI input. ln that case you do need to use a DVI to VGA adapter. The one that came with your Graphics card should work but check you documentation to make sure that it is intended to convert DVI to VGA and NOT VGA to DVI.

Also, many graphics cards have two DVI outputs but only one of them is capable of outputting the analog signals(DVI-A) required by VGA. Check to make sure that you are using the correct DVI output on your graphics card if you have more than one.
