I got the Seasonic 1000W Platinum for the following build. Do you think I made a good choice?

I also intend on heavily overclocking my system.

Dual SLI GTX 680 MSI Lightning
Core i7 3770K
8GB DDR3 1600MHz RAM
MSI Big Bang Mpower Z77 motherboard

You really cannot go wrong with anything Seasonic makes but 1KW is overkill for any rig. Even with dual 680s you don't need 1KW, you can get by with 850W easily.

However if you're gaming you don't need an i7, you can use an i5 and be fine. You also don't need a motherboard that expensive either.

It was my understanding that PSU's are most efficient at ~70% load.
Large part of getting a reasonable wattage PSU isn't where its most efficient though, but where it isn't. 80+ Certification only covers loads between 20 and 100%, if your under 20% the specified efficiency may not be applicable.

I dont know of many systems that will idle at 200W.

Most usually don't but unless you have access to professional testing equipment there's no way to tell.
