Hi Guys :)

I am stuck between choosing one of the above display options. One is a Samsung 32 inch LED 100Hz Smart TV, and the other is a Samsung 27 inch 3D LED 120hz Monitor.

Here are links to both of them:
Samsung Monitor
Samsung TV

I have owned the Samsung monitor in the past and I was extremely pleased with it. I live in South Africa and the TV is about ZAR1000 cheaper and a whole 5 inches bigger. However, the monitor does have that extra 20Hz which is a loss that I will surely notice.

Just to clarify, this is strictly for gaming and gaming only. All I am interested in is the quality, delivery and smoothness of the display. Is it worth it to choose the TV over the monitor, even despite the 20Hz loss? I am most definitely not bothered about losing the 3D capability as I will never use it, and I am not going to use the Smart TV capabilities of the TV as well.

Which would you recommend? Thanks in advance:)

Well, a 20 Hz loss is not entirely accurate.

The TV can only receive a 60 Hz signal. It then takes that signal and inserts more frames via interpolation to make it 100 Hz.

The monitor, on the other hand, will receive a 120 Hz signal, meaning the graphics card can send 120 frames and the monitor will display them all as sent.

For the purposes of gaming, since you are apparently looking for fast refresh rates, I would recommend the monitor as it will provide a true 120 Hz refresh versus the TV's (what I call) fake 100 Hz refresh.
