stock 3.5ghz to 3.9ghz not good enough? i guess without spending too much money, i'd have to upgrade my PSU in order to be able to go higher than 3.9ghz and get an aftermarket cpu cooler. i wish i could switch to intel but i just built this PC a month ago on a $1200 budget including all the fans and fan controller for my CM HAF X case.

+1, (do not upgrade reccomendations)
and check Tom's CPU Hierarchy Chart, not only are the 6300 & 8350 in the same tier group, they are on the same row.

And if you read the reviews about the 8350 from verified users on newegg. Overall the owners are happy; considering the inexpensive price. The only real complaint is heat. With a TDP of 125watts the 8350 takes a "sledghammer" approach to getting work done. The 6300 burns 30 less watts, which is nothing to smerk at... Buyers should consider efficiency too, with a cool running system as an added bonus.
