Need to upgrade core2duo to i3

Hi all,

I would like to know I have dell laptop vostro 1015 having Intel core2 duo Processor. can I upgrade it to Intel i3 or i5

Intel Mobile Core 2 Duo T6570 @ 2.10GHz
Penryn 45nm Technology
Motherbord Dell inc.
Chipset Model GM45/GM47

Hi,

There is no way to upgrade from Core2 to i3 or i5 series with your current motherboard. You would have to find new motherboard that fits (if you find) in your laptop and buy new ram and new CPU.

It will cost you like brand new PC. Better to go with PC.

Ok thanks a lot for your valuable information.

I have one more doubt I have dell vostro 1015 model. Which mother board do I have. I checked in BIOS its saying Dell Inc.
I think dell never make mother board like MSI/Intel please clear my doubts

Dell sometimes makes mobos, sometimes they use other companies to make them but they are Dell branded mobos.
Something like Corsair Power supplies. They are designers and other companies manufacture them.
But that should not concern you because all information and drivers that are compatible with your mobo will be available only from Dell.
