im kinda stuck on deciding which card to get because im planning on doing 3 monitors and that 1gb buff on the 670 really pulls me in . but the 7970 is slightly faster but uses much more power and the fact that i have a 500w psu makes it tough to choose also i dont want a new psu because i have a problem with my main HDDs motherboard sata connector it snapped. so can anyone help. also the £60 price gap douse not bother me in the slightest. and both of the power requirements are 500w.

The xfx 7970 3gb will be better than the gtx 670 ftw 4gb considering your plan of multi monitor.
As long you got a quality psu (antec xfx enermax corsair seasonic ) the 500 watt should be ok
Thanks

I assume you mean GAMING on three monitors.

Be aware that even a single HD7970 or GTX670 isn't good enough for most modern games on high settings. You'll have to lower the quality or drop the frame rate quite a bit with a single card and multiple cards plus 3xmonitor setups can be tricky to setup.

Personally, I far prefer to game on a single 27", 2560x1440 screen. I tried someone's 3x22" setup and I'd much rather game on a single screen. Dell has an awesome one for $700 which is what three half-decent monitors would cost.

PSU:
500 Watts is too low for the graphics cards. A quality one MAY work depending on your setup but it's not recommended. A quality 550W is considered the minimum but I'd get at least a 650W.

3GB vs 4GB:
None of the 3x (1920x1080) tests indicate an advantage of 4GB vs 3GB (3GB vs 2GB yes). At least none that I've seen.
