Go with i5 3570k + GTX680 or HD7970

Simply Because the 3570k will cost less and enough for current games in market also overclockable to 4.5GHz+ meaning bonus performance, the only reason anyone would go for a i7 is just video editing animation work purpose, NOT for gaming.
Thanks

Going with the extra cost of an LGA 2011 system is a waste unless you both need and are going to use a 6 core CPU. The LGA 2011 boards are more expensive and they require quad channel memory so you have to buy 4 matched sticks to run in quad channel mode.

LGA 2011 is more of a highest end gaming platform with a 6 core CPU and 2 to 4 high end graphics cards or a high end workstation platform for people working with software that can use 6 core CPUs.

LGA 1155 is just as good for all but the highest end gaming and applications and a much cheaper platform to get into.

Some of the newest games are actually capable of using Hyperthreading like Crysis 3. This trend may continue so the 3770K might not be a bad choice depending on your budget. Right now the 3750K is the best "bang for your buck" gaming CPU.

No one but the OP needs to be selecting a best answer in an hour old thread.........Especially when that person has not even posted in the thread.

Currently the requirement for selecting a solution to a thread is for veteran members who have earned 5 best answers, Moderators and the thread originator (OP), anyone that has less and even though they can see and select the solution button do not meet the requirements and should not be doing so.

I know. Someone came along who had not even posted in the thread and selected my answer as best. The thread was less than an hour old. I unselected myself as best answer and sent a message with the persons name to the mods. He had no business selecting a best answer in a thread he was not participating in especially one less than an hour old.

Although I did think I had the best answer. Guess I'm too honest for my own good sometimes lol.

Unfortunately the current requirement is 5 best answers and they don't have to be a participant in the thread. This will be changing shortly and the best answer requirement number raised and hopefuly additional requirements added. I have sent a warning to the member that did it as he doesn't have 5 best answers yet and that's another thing I'm hoping gets fixed as currently everyone can see the solution button and use it.
If you come across this situation again let me know.
