70 to 80c while gaming is normal no worries.
GPUs are designed to run much hotter temp than CPUs so 85c might be too high for a cpu but for a gpu 85c it is ok No Worries :)

You can add some extra case fan if you want to if it helps cooling, normaly the cooler your pc parts are the better.

Thanks

Edit: heres a similar thread on the topic for people with doubt can also check manufacturers website. http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/answers/id-1645579/video-card-hot.html

I'd flip Sh*t if my GPU got that hot in my desktop, no its not normal for all GPUs. I even cool and my laptop so it might hit 70c, but that's a laptop. Heat kills electronics, the cooler the better...

Your temps are fine like Imomun said. The only time to worry is if you hit 90C+. I totally agree though that the cooler you can make it run, the better it is for the parts.

You can download programs that will allow you to make your own fan curve to keep the temps where you want them at a sacrifice of noise. I personally use MSI Afterburner and have my card set so if the temp is 50C the fan is 50% and 75C fan at 75% and so on with the minimum fan speed at 46%.

a few free programs that allow OCing and fan speed adjustment.
EVGA Precision
MSI Afterburner
HIS I Turbo

Everybody has there own preference/tolerance, but that doesn't change the fact that GPU manufacturers do have their GPus Max Thermal limit mentioned @ which GPU will crash or shut down. But that figure is usually above 95c NOT 80c

For your information : No one but the OP needs to be selecting a best answer, when its just a few hour old thread......Especially when that person has not even posted in the thread yet. Apology but I believe bgunner will also agree to this.
Thanks

Currently the requirement for selecting a solution to a thread is for veteran members who have earned 5 best answers, Moderators and the thread originator (OP), anyone that has less and even though they can see and select the solution button do not meet the requirements and should not be doing so.
