Hey guys,

So I'm stuck on buying three 1080p monitors or 1 2560x1440 (or 2560x1600) monitor. 3 monitors is much better for productivity, but even with 3 GTX titan's it can be hard to pull of grate frame rates and frame times on some games. With a ultra hi-res however you have more or less the same space but with some where near 50% more resolution, and with a strong rig it can get you >60 fps. these two set ups essentially cost the same, but my question is do 3 1080p monitors provide enough immersion and productivity to sacrafice performance to a display with a better resolution? Thanks!

BTW for a three-way monitor setup this is what I'm looking at: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

and this for my hi-res display:

your links dont work.. However i would go with 3 monitors for sure. you get lots of work space, and if you cant run the game you want on all three then just run it on one monitor. I love my dual setup, i usually run netflix on my right and game on my left.

Oops. Big mistake on my part XD; either way I am saving up for a really powerful setup, and I may even be able to achieve 60 fps on all three screens (hypothetically with the 700 series), but I (being a greedy jackass) wanted a little more than 60 FPS so I thought that it may not be too viable. But looking at it a little more deeply, it seems that if I buy EVGA hydro Copper series cards (usually clocked a bit higher than the original speeds) and Overclock it a little more, possible >1GHZ of clock speed (on 3 cards) I may be able to get somewhere near 80-100 fps on three monitors.
