thanks for the help. i tried doing wat u said n this is wat happened.
i hav a toshiba 1tb usb external hard drive. i use windows xp.
wen i click on my computer, it jams up at times and says not "my computer - not responding"
more recently it does not show the hard drive in the my computer menu.
so im unable to run the diagnostic as per the instructions in ur link. also wen i right click on the drive in the computer management window there is no "tools" window or any disk check. is there another way to access the disk check?
in disk management, right upper pane, it shows the following
volume: (F
layout: partition
type: basic
file system: this is left blank no NTFS or fat32 or raw anything at all
status: healthy
capacity: 931.51gb
free space: 931.51gb
% free: 100%
fault tolerance: no
overhead: 0%
does this mean that all the info on this drive is permanently deleted or lost?
is there a way to restore this hard drive with the files i had on here?
is it jus a file system issue? if so is there a way to fix this without formatting the drive n losing the info? (assuming the info is not already lost)
in the disk management, right lower pane it shows as
Disk 1
basic
931.51gb
online
then to the right
(F
931.51gb
healthy
i dont know wat to do from here.
any help will be much appreciated!
