I'm not sure if this is the right section to post this, apologies if that is the case.

I've built my first PC, but it won't progress past the system speaker beeping 3 times at me repeatedly whenever I turn it on. Specs are:

MSI Z77A-G41
Intel i7 3770
G.Skill Ripjaws X DDR3 1866 (8GB x2)
Gigabyte GTX650Ti
Samsung 840 SATA3 120GB SSD
Seagate 1TB SATA3
Antec Neo Eco 80Plus Bronze 520 PSU

The 3 beeps = a RAM issue according the mainboard's manual. I've tried switching around the 2 RAM sticks, using only 1 RAM stick (tried both), made sure they were in the DIMM 2/4 slots not 1/3 as per the manual, booting without any RAM, booting without the graphics card, nothing works, can't get BIOS to show up.

I've also gone through the checklist found elsewhere on these forums for checking all the connections, standoffs, CPU pins not being bent, etc.

As a complete novice I don't know what's wrong. Could the 3 beeps mean anything else besides a RAM problem?

I have the exact problem with my pc after i upgraded my cpu heatsink, from what I can see it appears to be a ram problem or a motherboard problem. I also have 2 ram sticks, and put them both individually in different slots to no luck. So a asume its a mobo issue becuase what are the ods of 2 ram sticks becoming faulty at the same time. unless you did anything notable to them i say it could be a mobo problem, or a ram. you could test your ram in someone elses pc and see if it beeps if it doesnt then its a mobo problem.

Edit: i just realised we both have the exact same ram G.skill 2x8gb sticks.

@hood4r really really hoping its not the mobo. Unless anyone else has any suggestions for what the problem could be, I'll get a friend to look at it and post what they say.

@ARICH5 the mobo manual showed configuring the RAM into slots 2 and 4 and leaving 1 and 3 empty if using 2 sticks.

Some stuff that i tryed but didnt work for me that could work for you are: remove the cmos battery, reset the cmos and iv heard just take everything apart and rebuilding it could help. I hope you fix your problem.

Okay it turned out to be an epic noob mistake - I simply didn't push the RAM sticks in hard enough. I thought I did, because the mobo started bowing when I increased the pressure, but apparently not. Everything works now :sarcastic:
