Radeon HD 7770 good cheap upgrade?

I have a really crappy graphics card (Nvidia GeForce GT220) and want to upgrade to enable me to get better FPS is games such as ARMA or Dayz. I have been recommended to look at the Radeon HD 7770 as an affordable option that will allow me to do so.

My question is - should I go for this card or are there better quality cards out there for a similar price? (around £100-£120)

Thank you for your help I have updated the thread with my system information. I hope this will be able to assist you in your assistance.

I have a 500W power supply and a Asrock N68C-S UCC motherboard (that for some reason has 2 DDR2 slots and 2 DDR3 slots but cannot be used at the same time?).

The only potential problem is the power supply. 500W doesn't say much, because a 500W power supply can be crap or great depending on the model. It's sufficient for any of these graphics cards if it's of decent quality and has the necessary 6-pin PCIe connector.

500 WATT ATX POWER SUPPLY , its a cheap one - that is all the info I can see on it. I think it is this one (http://www.amazon.co.uk/500-WATT-ATX-POWER-SUPPLY/dp/7135799313/ref=sr_1_1?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1365428795&sr=1-1&keywords=ATX#productDetails).

I dont see any 6-pin PCIe adapters you mentioned. (Googled a picture)I do have 2 spare leads at the moment but I have no idea what they could be (one similar to a telephone jack with 4 small holes, and 1 longer thin adapter with 4 circular holes). Is it possible to get an adapter for one of these leads? will I need to upgrade my PSU? or is there an alternative graphics card I could choose?

Sorry for the crappy information once again.

500W, £12. That's an unrealistically low price, meaning it's most likely crap. The apparent absence of a 6-pin connector points to the same conclusion.

One of the spare leads is probably a 4-pin molex. It is possible to convert that (usually two of them) to 6-pin PCIe, but it's still not a good solution. The 4-pin molex connectors are designed to run low-power devices like fans or old harddrives; running a graphics card off them may be unsafe (it'll draw more power via that route than the power supply was designed for).

I would recommend a new power supply from one of the reliable brands (Antec, Corsair, Seasonic, XFX etc.)

As for identifying the connectors, here's a useful pic:

(note that the 20-pin has since been replaced with a 24-pin in most cases; it looks the same, just that bit longer)

Yeah you were correct its a Molex. I knew I would be opening a can of worms with this. I know I must be annoying you by now but can you recommend to me a graphics card and PSU combination that would be suitable for the rest of the components that I have listed above because I really have no idea what to get (if you didn't already guess).

I was originally looking to spend around £100-£120, if i can get the 7770 at £80 (http://www.ebuyer.com/477622-xfx-hd-7770-core-edition-1gb-gddr5-dual-dvi-hdmi-displayport-pci-e-fx-777a-znf4) that would give me around £40-£50 for a PSU.

If you can recommend a combination for me (you seem to know your stuff) I would be extremely grateful.
