CPU: AMD Athlon II x4 640 processor 3Ghz
PSU: 680 Watts
I bought a Sapphire HD 7870 a while ago and it was working great, then after a few weeks it broke. The screen displayed 'no signal' but when connected back to the integrated card it worked ok, so i got a refund for the graphics card and then bought a Gigabyte HD 7870 OC edition.
When it first arrived I installed it but nothing happened, the fans didn't spin and it was pretty lifeless, upon boot of the PC i got one long beep and three short beeps (graphics card error) so I thought the card was faulty and sent it back for an exchange. Yesterday the new card arrived and still the exact same problem. (Mobo GPU beep error, no life in GPU)
So I am wondering what the problem is, I think it may be a problem with the PCIe x16 slot however I am not certain, I do not have any other systems I can check the card in and don't have any other cards i can check in my system.
