Hey Tom's Hardware crew! I'm having some issues with my new motherboard as I get a CPU fan error message when I try to use the default overclock on my motherboard, I have opened the BIOS before no problem but now I have another issue. If I try to enter the BIOS menu now rather it freezes on the "Press F2 or Del to open UEFI BIOS menu" or my screw jsut fades into pure black, and I cannot for the life of my figure out why.

This is my first build so any help is appreciated!

Some monitor connections such as DisplayPort are incompatible with UEFI BIOS. So you could try switching to DVI if you haven't already.

You should also try resetting your BIOS by clearing CMOS (refer to your motherboard manual or search google on how to do this on the particular brand and model you have.)

The CPU fan error message pops up if your CPU_FAN 1 header is unplugged or your CPU heatsink uses low voltage adapter. It can easily by fixed by setting the Minimum CPU fan speed lower from your BIOS manually. Just make sure the fans are actually spinning and the CPU remains cool in order to avoid damage to your components.

Thanks! I will give this a shot! And I don't have a DVI connector but I've already used the BIOS to install Windows 7 using the boot up from drive so I'm wondering what caused it. Thanks though!
