Should I wait for AMD 8xxx to upgrade?

I'm building a new system right now, and am looking to upgrade from a pair of 4870 512Mb cards. I already ordered the new cpu, so should I just use my current cards in the new system until the next gen cards come out, or just get a new one now? The cpu is a i7 3770k, so a processor bottleneck with a single next gen card shouldn't be an issue.

Thanks for the heads up Brett! and here I was thinking they were slated for a Q3-Q4 launch... well, looks like I'll be hunting down a Sapphire 7970 ghz, too bad newegg just ran out of stock of'em =(

the cpu rebuild is a need, my 5yo phenom 9850BE's becoming kinda crashy as of late (and doesn't like the CFD programs I use for school so much lol). So i guess it comes down to whether or not it's a good idea to run old gpu's in a new system until price/value improve, or just build an entirely new system now...

Believe me, I'd LOVE to have that card! But $900 is a little out of my price range, I was only even going for the 7970ghz because I found the i7 3770k for $100 off :D
