Hello, I've experienced a really weird problem. I just forced a shutdown of my computer, and after rebooting my computer it has all changed:

.-My background was removed and replaced with a black one.

.-When dragging folders, it usually shows a blurred window being dragged around, but now its only a black "line"-frame of the window that is being dragged around

.-My font seems like a thin courier new everywhere. I managed to reset it to the standard font in windows 7 (I don't know the name), but so far it has not changed in firefox 7, which still uses this "thin" courier font, and I cannot change it back. Other programs have similar font change (steam)

.-Firefox also keep asking if I would like to make it my default browser. I keep pushing "yes", and it does not change at all.

.-Google kept showing me a 404 when I search with the "quick-search" in FF, even though all other websites worked, and when I just typed in "google.com" it worked (now there is no problem with the quick search)

.-All my recovery points are gone. I remember creating one two days ago - its gone!

.-The only thing remembered in the start menu is the programs I have fixed to it. Though, recently used folders and videos still appear in, for instance, media player and explorer,

I had similar problem with an old laptop from acer (By the way, I hate you acer), that windows stated contained an illegal copy of Vista. Acer claimed that was because of some BIOS malfunction. The background kept changing, the font was changed to this thin font.

I am using an ASUS g55v laptop

This is my second reboot, I've scanned everything (avg free), and no infections so far...

What the hell has happened? I hope somebody can help me find out.

Regards,

Hey, thank you for your reply. You mean as in, my user has somehow become a temporary? I only have one account.

I just found out, I was looking at the wrong area for my restore points, they are there, and I'll try them at first, and see if anything changes.

EDIT: I just tried two different restore points. It seems they both give the same error: 0x80070002, which is due to some file lacking in the restore point. All I can see is, it reports some file missing in Firefox' Profile path in appdata, so probably not gonna be solved at all. Most who seem to have this problem when restoring the computer cannot even boot the computer.
