my wd 500gb won't stop resetting and computer has stopped reading it...it just keeps resetting and i can't get to the information stored on it...

Hi :) 

Run a hard drive test in DOS... HIRENS BOOT CD etc, it sounds like a failing hard drive... do NOT do this if you have an SSD...

All harddrives fail and thats why we always urge users to make backups.
As Brett said, it sounds likeyour hdd has failed. You can also use the tools WD makes available for you on their downloads page to test their drive.
Hopefully its still under warranty and u do have backups...

Nope. Warranty out. Tried data recovery...no go. I just lost years and years of valuable pictures...the whole reason why I go the damn thing in the firs place. Computer can't even read it anymore, it just keep resetting. Tried HD hard drive error program and it says too many bad sectors to rad. : (
