hi everyone

in these days i've been looking far and wide for info about a new gpu i could buy for my pc.

Pc config : i5 750 2,67 GHz, 4 Gb ram corsair DDR3, PSU 600W Soly tech, Asus P7P55D pro

important : i don't want an amd gpu ( to many bad experieces in the past and also i kind like the image quality of nvidia )

  • budget: arround 200 $ ( i'm from europe so with 200$ i mean like the price for mid range gpu )

would be enough a gtx 660 to run skyrim, gta 4 ( 5 ), crysys2, farcry 3 at ultra settings with good dps?

i could go for even a gtx 660 TI, BUT, just if is necesessary: i mean with my spec will i be able to see the difference between a normal 660 and a 660 TI? Wasn't there a problem of limited memory bus on the TI ( so isn't a waste of money to buy a TI instead of a 660 )

thanks!

You can do fine gaming @ 1080p with a GTX 660 without running in to much CPU bottleneck.
Thanks

I don't have the exact setup to tell you certain but I assume anything above a GTX660 can give occasional CPU bottleneck unless you overclock CPU to 3.6GHz or so specially true for games likes crysis3 Skyrim-moded and online multiplayers games. If you don't mind and like to play the highest detail @ 1080p then I guess you can go for GTX 660TI or 7870. Thanks

thanks for your answer. with that i assume if i'll go for a TI i would have the same result of a 660, right? my main goal is to run these games at ultra settings without having like 40 fps. Would be ok so?

i've always had amd. so not really a fan boy. just sick and tired to have low quality drivers, bug ( like 100 % cpu working cause of the bugged driver ), horrible heat dissipation...

really nvidia, may costs a bit more, but worth it

ive had 3850 --> 5850 and now 7870 xt, for 220$ can match 670-680 performance when overclocked

and forgot to mention, rarely had any problems

i'm happy for you. but the i've opened the 3d to ask something else. my question is between 660 and 660 Ti, with my pc, would there be much more difference in the games i've mentioned before? So is not about "is the 660/660 ti, compare to the respective amd, worth the price?" but " is the 660 equal, with my spec, to the 660 ti?". Will it be wise to spend more money to buy a 660 ti, instead of 660?
