I have the same issue as here. But this solution no longer works. maybe catalyst works different now. My 5770 drops from 400 mhz to 157 MHZ 2D once I attempt to overclock it. As soon as it does I get screen tearing. I have tried afterburner and several other solutions to this problem but nothing works. Anyone else resolve this problem? I thought about buying a new GPU but scared I will have the same problem on any AMD card. Or maybe there is a way to disable the powersaving feature and make the card run at full clock speed all the time.

I just tried this.. Same thing :( Thanks for the suggestion. Looks like this issue has been around for years. I cant believe there is nothing you can do to correct it. Even 1 mhz overclock immediately causes it.

Do you run with multiple monitors? Normally those low clocks wouldn't cause tearing unless you have multiple monitors hooked up. I remember having the same issues 1-2 years ago, but I found going back to some older drivers fixed it. Though the best solution is just not to use Overdrive, and instead use MSI afterburner.

Yeah. I have the HDMI out to my TV that I occasionally use. Can I just unplug it? As for using Afterburner.. I think it integrated with overdrive. Uninstall Overdrive? Maybe Ill reinstall that and see what I can do with it.

Ty guys for any help. Its really annoying and I have been trying all week to fix it since (re)building this new setup.

I flashed the bios to 400 and 900 on clock info 1 , same as clock info 3. Scrolling artifacts are gone! That is awesome. Ty!!!! Still have artifact tearing on the bottom of the screen. Going to work on that now.

Awesome to hear some success as it worked for my 5850.
