I did a quick format on my 1TB pen drive and latter realized a couple of documents were not backed up. Is there anyone that can help me to reach these files for free? Actually, I have read many related articles, including the data recovery, data recovery software and the likes. But, since I have never encountered this problem before, I hope you can give me some advice. Thank you!

You have purchased a costly USB flash drive of 1TB. I guess you can effort $69 for a Data Recovery software.

Use Power Data Recovery. This is the only one I can strongly recommend based on my past experience of Data recovery.

Well! Since you have read a lot about data recovery stuff, I trust you also know that a quick format could not erase all your data. All you need to save these files is a data recovery tool.
Actually, I have ever experienced the same problem. And fortunately, I have found a drive data recovery freeware here that offers a special "format recovery" option for the user and eventually restored all of my data back for free.
Next time, you should remember to back up your data all the time.
Good luck!

Thanks. Recently, I have no extra money to pay for a data recovery tool. Therefore, thank your for your recommended recovery freeware.
This freeware is scanning my formatted drive and perhaps needs much longer time.
I would inform you the result latter.

Try TestDisk

TestDisk is a powerful open-source tool for recovering your data. Not only can TestDisk perform basic file recovery like undeleting accidentally deleted files from FAT, NTFS, and ext2 file systems, but it comes with a host of additional functionality. With TestDisk you can recover your boot sector from a backup, rebuild your boot sector, fix FAT tables, fix your MFT, locate the ext2/ext3 backup SuperBlock, copy deleted files from partitions to recovery media, and find lost partitions in dozens of formats to help you locate your lost data. It's a command line tool, so there's no GUI, but the menus and the documentation in the wiki should get you started without much trouble.

No need to worry as the formatted drive data is recovered by making use of Remo recover tool. By means of it, you can get back data from USB drives, pen drives, FireWire drives, external hard drives, etc.

Thank you for your useful post! I have ever faced the same quick formatting data recovery problems. I have learned that the quick formatting will not really erase hard drive data immediately. So, before the original data are overwritten by new files, we often can restore them back with the help of some data recovery tool like Recuva, 4Card Recovery and more.
Moreover, I also know that it is really important to save all important data on different drives in case of similar data recovery problems.
Thanks a lot!
