Hey guys, so I have a gaming pc build here but i have a question about it. So the main reason i wanted to build a gaming pc was for mmorpgs like lotro, WOW, Tera, Vindictus and so on. But i wanted to know if this build is overkill for online games like this, especially the gpu.
Here it is:

Also ive heard that for mmorpg gaming, the cpu is more important than the gpu. I do plan on playing games like Battlefield 3, Skyrim, and even Bioshock infinite. So i guess my question is, Is this overkill for mmos and is it actually enough for higher, more graphically intense games.

Solution
For purely MMO gaming, then yeah you could likely get away with a lot less. Those games are designed to run adequately on bare minimum systems, so you don't need much in the way of GPU grunt to get good performance.
For the other games you mention (Particularly BF3), you do need a lot of GPU grunt to achieve good performance at the higher settings. A 7970 will be able to pretty much max any of them at 1080p.

MMO type games (and console ports *cough* Skyrim *cough*) are typically CPU oriented when it comes to what dictates performance. This is largely because they aren't that demanding graphically, so the CPU will bottleneck performance before any decent GPU will. However in intense games like Crysis 3 or BF3, graphics will bottleneck...

As long as you have a decent level of CPU performance (which you doi in that 3570k), you dont ahve to worry about the CPU holding you back.

Solution

This.

If you aren't worried about the other games as much, you can drop down to a 7850 and be fine. (An old 9800GT can max most MMOs out there if paired with a good CPU.)

If you want to play the other games on max settings, then you've got the rig for it.
