Because I am limited in the amount of gb I have to use per month, is it possible to 'get' another persons updates for a 64bit Windows 7? Whether it be by disc or flash drive or what not, am I able to get what he has downloaded and get his updated files loaded onto my own pc? Its just that I have recently had to make a new PC and am needing to update Windows 7 to its latest.

Any help would be appreciated
Thanks,

No, it doesn't work like that. You can't 'extract' already installed updates from one machine and use them on another. In any case, a laptop will have gotten different updates than a desktop. Chipset, trackpad, etc.

Have a friend download them to CD or USB from my earlier link, and that will do it.

Yes. Windows updates can be downloaded and put on a CD/DVD to use elsewhere.
Go here for the MS support article.

Sorry for not being a bit more specific. What I meant was...
My laptop is already is updated with the latest updates for 64bit Windows 7 Home Premium and the PC that WILL be running 64bit Windows 7 Home Premium wont be updated at all as it is a clean install.

What I'm asking is, is it possible to 'backup' the laptops OS and use it on the PC to save having to download the updates on the PC.

I hope I'm being specific enough, thanks.
