12v lines question about PSU.

Would THIS gpu ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168... ) work on THIS PSU( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168... ) ?

The GPU needs 38A, while my PSU only provides 37A. 25a on 12v1 and 25a on 12v2.

Even so, that gpu draws a TOTAL of 200w, while my 12v lines can supply 450w of power.

Your links don't work. What gpu and what psu are you talking about? 25A on each 12V rail would be 50 A total which is 600W on the 12V. It should be good for most gpus, but let me know which ones exactly so we can be sure.

Bloomerr :

There is no GPU that needs 38A for itself. It's combined with CPU needs. So you have probably 7950 radeon or something like that.
Provide PSU just to be sure of it's quality, but from this standpoint, 7950 + 95W Cpu will work with this ratings you provided.

Your's selection will work, but i strongly recomend to go with that seasonic model over OCZ 550.

Your just out of luck. That 680 requires dual 8pin connectors, while the PSU you have only has one 8pin and a 6pin connector.

I already own the OCZ powering my 7850 right now, I don't want to get a new PSU which is why I posted this thread trying to get more info on whether or not it will work and any bad things that could happen.

And that's just the cables. The output slots are both 8 pin, but I'll use a 6 pin to 8 pin adapter anyway. Or I could just buy a second 8 pin PCI-E that will work just fine. It's just the amps I'm worried about.

It will run with OCZ.

No one recomends using adapters to power GPU's but that does not mean that you can't get away with it.

I recommend just buying a card that requires a 6pin and single 8pin connector, seems a much safer alternative to me. Those extra two wires are there for a reason.

Feldmarschall, the PCI-E output slots from the OCZ PSU are both 8 pin. I have NO idea why they didn't make both cables 2x8pin, but I am confident that both of them are 8 pin.

Does that not mean that I can use 2x8pin connectors?

It means that you can. Diagram shows that both outputs are same so it is ok to use them with your card.
