Hey everyone,

So this is my first time running a CPU overclocked and just wanted double and triple check my temps. I am running a Gigabyte UD5H mobo, with a i7 3770k, with a Corsair H60 cooler. I have it currently overclocked to 4.2 and here is a screenshot. This is running Prime95 - Blend for about 30 minutes.

Is everything ok in terms of temperature? My idle temps are around 33-35 C as well. I also used the pre-applied thermal paste hat came on my H60 and believe everything is seated properly. Thanks for taking the time in responding!!

sounds about right, if you don't have any power saving features, your CPU will be idling pretty high normally. Whats your max load temperature? That's the important bid. Normally, try not to pass anything over 60'C. For most chips, that's the danger point where you will deteriorate the life of the chip much quicker.

Also, if you are going to go serious with your overclock like for a 24/7 build, you might want to step up your cooler. H60 is nice for base clocks, but for extended use you will have problems. If you want to stay with pre-built cooler, you'll wanna get the h100i or thermaltake water 2.0 extreme. For like $30 more you can even get custom cooling like EK or XSPC which will cool much better. Also, always make sure to redo the thermal paste every 6 months to maintain good solid flow.

After that Prime95 - Blend for about 30 minutes, the average temperature was around 65 C and the max was on Core #1 at 70 C
