What is best CPU/value for processing video which is typically slow and time consuming. Dedicated machine. Want performance so will lean toward more expensive, but don't want to drain bank (one is as good as the other in real world but not as expensive).
Build from scratch. considering INTEL Intel Core i7-3770 Quad-Core Processor 3.4 GHz referenced before and 3820 with gigabyte board z77x up4 th or asus p8z77-v. I do a lot of multimedia so hdmi and optical audio needed

Ideas??????
Thanks

ok so I have done a little research. The question that always comes up is that of software. Will the benefits of the fx8350 outway the i7 3770k for similar video/audio processing (and normal use) with current software (which may not be optimized)
? Also what MOBO would I mate to the CPU

Asus M5A99FX EVO R2.0 is a good choice, Asrock 990FX extreme3 or extreme9 would be good (the BIOS for extreme4 has a tendency to be buggy). Gigabyte 990FX ud3 or ud5 or ud7. You could even go to a 970 series board to save some money if you're not going to use SLI...

Sure there is. An 8320 with the multiplier bumped up to match the 8350. :p
