are you using display port, post all the specs of your setup before asking a question

for eyefinity to work you need 3 monitors

connected like this

monitor--->(dvi or hdmi) ---> GPU
monitor--->(dvi or hdmi) ---> GPU
monitor---->(dvi or hdmi or displayport) ---> ACTIVE adapter ---> mini display port-----> GPU

I don't know if this thread is still active but what the H..ll.

For eyefinity to work go to the computer store or whatever and ask for an Active Display Port. Make sure it's active, i got busted buying a 20 dollar standard display port that wasn't active (didn't know at the time i needed an active one). So make sure it's an active one. Hope you make everything work.

There is a formula that I invented for this Eyefinity Conections Rocket Science issue :)

The number of displays that you can power = (The number of Displayports on the card) + 2

The 2 being the number of monitors you can power with passive or non-displayport adaptors

For anything above TWO You need to have native Displayport Monitors or an Active Displayport adaptor for every monitor above two for up to the Displayports number in your system and up to a max of 6 monitors which is the current AMD Chip limitation.

I think this thread is dead anyways and the OP has figured it out already, but he will still face a problem that not all his 3 monitors are the same size and maybe not the same resolution...

Cheers :)

Sapphire makes some cards that don't require the active display port adapter. I forgot what they called their 'technology'.

It is called FLEX and is good for 3 non-DP monitors and could power up to 5 monitors if you get two ACTIVE DP adapters.

But this is only one single exception to the rule, all the other cards in the market require active adapters even all the other Sapphire non-FLEX edition which is like 99& of their cards :)

I have the exact same problem. i have had my Amd radeon 7970 for about a year now working fine with 2 monitors set up for expanded desctop. 1 is conected via HDMI and one is connected via minidisplay port -> dvi.
Now would like to connect one more monitor working as 3 expanded monitors. My 40" samsung 8000 series led tv is now connected via minidisplay -> hdmi

I am experiensing the same as thomas, i can only select 2 monitors at the same time no matte what combination it works.. but if i select all 3 at the same time it wont accept it when i press confirm even though it tels me to push confirm. hope that someone can put some ligt on this question. and if more information is needed i will gladly supply it..

Best regards
Michael
