I would use a Hi-ren disc and see if you can run it (it loads a virtual OS in you machine's memory, if the virtual OS remains stable the issue could be software but a bonus to using a Hi-Ren cd or dvd is that you can back up all the files on a hard drive to a flash drive, then you can reload the OS. also of note you can use a linux live CD to preform the same task. and again reload your OS. This Notebook should have come with windows 7 on it and to recover the os threw the recovery partition, boot the machine and press "F8" in the list of options should be a option to repair your OS you can try that and see what happens. Please feel free to give us more information as you go if you are still having trouble.
