Video Card Issue, possible fix?

So a couple of years ago, I bought an Open Box 5770 due to the incredible price to performance. It had an issue on arrival(I took that chance going openbox). The card has what i think are pin connection issues. The Card does not get detected when installed normally, however, if you push the card up, it works fine. I got clever and designed a brace system to hold the card at the angle required and it worked fine. The issue is, occationally, due to general vibration, it will start to settle out and the screen will flip on and off randomly until i adjust the brace.

Anyone know what the REAL issue is, and if I could really fix the problem? The issue is not the motherboard, the same thing occurs on the other pci-e slots as well.

The first thing i did was cleaned it with alcohol and a q-tip. Did not make a difference.

No, I have to push it up with an uncomfortably large upward flex. Some of the pins appear to be broke, but i think this is normal, as I have seen others posting about this without my problem. I was hoping it was an easy fix, as I dont plan on updating it for a few more months, until an upgrade is actally worth the cost. The 5770 is still chewing through games at mid-midhigh settings.

So no one has a clue or any clever ideas? The flickering is getting worse and the sweet spot is getting smaller and smaller.

Does your card have LED's on it? Can you describe the behavior if them when your monitor is flickering and when not flickering?

If in a 3d game, when its working fine, the front 2 led's are always lit, and the back led is randomly flickering like a Hard drive activity indicator, when the screen flickers or goes black, all three led's are always on, I can adjust until the back led flips off, wait a second or two, and the monitor flips back on and the back led starts flickering again like a hdd led. If I let the card drop to its natural position, the computer crashes, and on reboot, the bios tells me something about Hypertransport Sync Flood. Still leads me to believe it is a poor connection to the motherboard.

I suppose it is time to start looking for a new card.
