EDTV resolution on windows 8

Hi,
I have a plasma EDTV connected via hdmi to my pc. The plasma's resolution is 852x480, which is of course not available through the display settings in windows.

How do I get this resolution set?

What do you mean it's not a native?

I actually did use powerstrip and created a new resolution, 852x480 and it worked. But for some reason it stopped working the same day.
The resolution is switched to 852x480, that is for sure, but the screen is blank...

your tv will always be 852 x 480 this is true, what will happen is hte tv will compress or enlarge the resolution that is comming into it IE: lif u use like a 480 x 256 resolution it would look stretched on the screen, or if you used a 1024x720 resolution it would compress it a little giving you crisper images, like i said its the 16:9 ratio.
