Okay AT&T suck for me I only get 76kbs download speeds and 700kbs when streaming and doing regular stuff like gaming and watching videos I use to get between 1- 3mbs but they downgraded me because they so called gave me the wrong service base off my area. I want to game so bad but I can this provide is way to slow for me could someone recommend a cheap provider that at least gives me 1-2mbs please ( I live in Houston Texas ISP: AT&T)

It is ENTIRELY dependent on where you live, and it's entirely possible ATT is the only provider. normally it's one crappy DSL provider, which you have. And if you're lucky one cable provider. There's vary rarely if ever a choice in ISPs in the US. They all have their own networks and don't overlap or share

^ This. I'm stuck in ATT hell myself with the same 3mbs connection I have had since 2004 or so. And the price just went up..........If I lived a half mile south I could have Cox cable 12mbs for the same price. Got to love ATT :gun:

It went up? That should be illegal, monopolies can sure suck.

I am guessing you have DSL service now. Likely it is not so much att but the telephone cable distance to your house. It will likely work the same no matter which provider you have.

So your other option is via cable tv. So it depends who offers cable tv in your area.

Worst case houston is covered very well by cellular broadband. Likely you will be able to get LTE coverage from verizon or maybe ATT. Clear/sprint may cover you with wimax but they too have been building out LTE. Clear should be the cheapest but they do not have the same coverage. None of these are what would be called cheap but a LTE connection you easily get 25m/sec

I am in League City, just south of you, I use the Comcast 105/20 service (a bit pricey if you are used to paying for DSL). But you could get the Blast! service, which rings in at something like $60.00/month for 50/10 service.

AT&T is kind of a joke around here. Fastest speeds are in the 15mb/s range and cost about the same as the 50mb cable...

For what it's worth, Comcast is a utility, just like Centerpoint, Reliant, AT&T etc... and there isn't a single one out there that gives a rats spit about customer service. The ONLY advantage I see with Comcast in comparison to alternative services is that Comcast has walk in service centers if you have hardware problems where you can just hand stuff over for a new one...
