Should I be getting a gfx card or cpu?

I've been playing this game Arma 3 for a while now, and it's great, but I heard that it was very cpu intensive. So I'm debating whether getting a better gfx card would be better or a cpu.

I currently have a ATI Radeon 5770
and a Athlon II x4 645 cpu 3.1ghz
8gb ram

I'm currently satisfied with the gfx card I have now cause I can still run Battlefield 3 on high and crysis 2 on high with 40 fps.

plus my cpu isn't meant for gaming but hyperthreading, (in other words for programs like editing and such)

I don't see a need to upgrade if you're able to run BF3 on high at a respectable 40fps. My CPU has hyper threading but it's not enabled; I use my rig for gaming and very little video editing.

If you're desperate to upgrade, then its the CPU IMO. If I was you, I'd get a 2500k and overclock it hard, but then I tend to favour the less expensive options a little, plus you don't need the hyper threading for gaming. An i7 3770k would futureproof you for a decent time.

Don't have the funds to transfer to a intel build. I just bought the asus m5a97 about $90 mobo and evo cpu cooler $35, i have 250 to spend. Also can't cheap out on a mobo since I currently use a duo pci-e with an external monitor (not xfired)
