I have a 4 year old computer and I was hoping to just update the video card, add more RAM and install a higher power supply into it but what worried me is if the video card I decide on would bottle-neck because the processor wasn't good enough and I wanted to see if anyone could help me.

This is the current build that I have now for the computer:

1x ASUS M4A785TD-V EVO AM3 AMD 785G HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard

1x EVGA 512-P3-1150-TR GeForce GTS 250 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card

1x AMD Phenom II X2 550 Black Edition Callisto 3.1GHz Socket AM3 80W Dual-Core Processor HDZ550WFGIBOX

1x Crucial 3GB (3 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600) Triple Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model

1x Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 ST31000528AS 1TB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive

I was thinking of seeing if I could possibly get a 500 GTX series in there or would I have to go lower for the processor? I'm building this computer to pretty much run games like starcraft 2 and Vindictus on it and I hear that the GTX 280 can handle Starcraft 2 on ultra settings.

I'm from the U.S and was hoping to spend 500-600 USD

I know I didn't put an estimate on how much I was willing to spend until now, but how much do you think it would run me to change the processor, video card, and added Ram?

Also, I'm using a 750W PSU and could I get suggestions to the video card I should use? And as far as ram went I was going to end up buying this:

G.SKILL Value Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600) Desktop Memory Model F3-10600CL9D-8GBNT

How abot this ?
You can use the 750w psu which will give you sufficient power to run you system

... and right there is a prime example of why people need to read the PSU guide linked in my signature.

Ultrascrub, please be more specific about your PSU. Just because there is some claim on the label as to wattage means very little by itself.

There are a variety of video cards available at different price points. Any $100 video card would be an upgrade for you. Look here:

My mistake, I'm still new to messing with computers myself. It came with the tower itself so I might have to read up on things. I can't seem to find the link in your signature to read what you meant.
