My setup: Z77 Extreme4 Mobo, I5-3570K CPU, ATI 7850 graphics card. PSU is rated for 520 watt antec eco.

Periodically (once every few hours), my graphics card driver will crash, but only if I'm playing games.

Most of the time it comes back up, but sometimes it causes the entire computer to BSOD. These issues started happening when i upgraded my old mobo/phenom4 to the new mobo/cpu combination. This led me to think there was something wrong with the software, so I formatted the main hdd, re-installed windows 8 (instead of win7), same problems. Eventually, I exchanged the mobo/cpu for a new set, and still have the same problem. I've kept my RAM/HDDs from the 'previous' computer.

I've tried every combination of booting into safe mode / using tools to un-reinstall graphics drivers/etc, and it keeps happening. I've tried overvolting, undervolting, overclocking, underclocking, nothing seems to make any effect.

A few oddities: I've tried overclocking the GPU and it will run for hours if its just doing computations, but as soon as I try to play games, it will exhibit this behavior.

Help!

Heat I've thought of. I have a liquid cooler on CPU. CPU temps range from 30-50. GPU temps stay below 80, and has crashed with temps as low as 65. Tried resetting CMOS, tried updating BIOS.

Literally BSODed again while I was typing the first response. Had crashed in a game but restarted. I get the feeling something is corrupting RAM, and whenever I touch it, it BSODs.

@Feldmarschall, Using Norton 360. Used to use MSE. No difference. Geting all windows updates. USB: have a webcam (logitech quickcam pro 9000), a keyboard, mouse, and 2 hubs. Currently nothing plugged into hubs.

@Swiftymorgan: I had been running 1600, down to 1333 now, will see if any difference. I also bumped from 1.5 to 1.53V.

EDIT: Including most recentBSOD:

Stupid question. How do I do that? I don't see an attach file option.

I tried turning on Driver Verifier. I got 4 more BSODs in the last half hour. In theory they should be super helpful, but I am having a hard time reading them. I'd be happy to post them, not sure how to attach files.

Go to C:\Windows\System32\drivers and find intelppm.sys... rename it to intelback.bak and restart

Run some games... i'll continue with reading this stuff

EDIT: If you have WD smartware installed, uninstall it, and reinstall Web cam software.

I have found ks.sys error in one of the dump files. It's an input/output error. One google search and guys found that western digital smartware has incompatibilites with logitech webcam software.

I don't really know why are they incompatible.

So far, have the webcam completely unplugged. I cant figure out what drivers/software is installed, but my guess is only drivers, no software, since I looked and couldn't find any.

Was unable to do the intelppm rename, but will boot into safe mode in a bit to try again.
