If you don't want FPS games you could try out a MOBA or maybe an RTS.

Maybe try something like Starcraft 2, Awesomenauts or Bloodline Champions, thats what I am currently playing.

strategy types:
ck2. (crusader kings)
eu3. (europa universalis)
Age of wonders series.

Adventure? types:
Diablo series
Titan quest series.

and trillions of online titles.
Please note these are Not single session games. Ie. not over in one sitting.
If looking for that instead. you need something shorter.. lighter:

I really enjoy playing Neverwinter. It's on beta and people often complain about the economy and lack of endgame...But seriously, it's a game not real life. Play it because you have fun playing it not because you plan on making a career out of it. The game looks amazing if you can run on decent settings and the skills system is quite good.

That's about it. Other than that First person shooters is what I have.
