3G and 4G/LTE

I got an iPhone 4, I got it for pretty long. Finally got service for it but my 3G is very slow... I found out that t-mobile's cellular tower is three miles from where I am and it's showing bad connection, 1-2 bars most if the time... My question is, would an iPhone 5 from T-Mobile get better signal on 4G than my iPhone 4 on 3G?

Thanks for reply but it's a bit late though lol... I got an iphone 5 already, good news is that I get 1-3 bars unlike the iphone 4 where I get No Service to Edge(100% of the time), upgrading was worth it but I get like 75KB/s on average and sometime even up to 1000KB/s for an instant and I see no "No Service"! the signal did improve as far as I know...
