Parts to Upgrade: None, buying new system altogether.

Do you need to buy OS: No

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: Newegg, Amazon, Superbiiz

Location: Washington D.C. (live near microcenter)

Parts Preferences: Inching towards the i5 3570k and asrock z77 pro4 Mobo deal at microcenter. $190 for CPU, $70 for MOBO, which is a pretty good deal isn't it?

Overclocking: Maybe in the future for bigger games.

SLI or Crossfire: No

Your Monitor Resolution: Getting a $90 1080p monitor at Bestbuy, so take that out of the budget.

Additional Comments: Nothing else really.

And Most Importantly, Why Are You Upgrading: Intel Core 2 Duo @ 2 Ghz and 2GB RAM isn't going to cut it nowadays.

Ehh, think you did a miscalculation there.

$190 ~ CPU
$70 ~ MOBO
$90 ~ Monitor
$25 ~ CPU Cooler
$42 ~ RAM
$69 ~ HDD
$369 ~ Video Card (Great video card by the way)
$59 ~ PSU

Total is $914. But there are some things I can decrease the price in. There's a 1TB HDD at microcenter for $59. And I can drop the CPU cooler, since I'm not overclocking right now. Makes it $880. I don't know how you did it, but that is one kick-ass system. Was going for the 7870 XT originally, but the 7970 just kills the competition. Thanks a lot, and you are awarded with a best answer! :)

EDIT: You forgot the case! I was thinking about the zalman z11 plus for $57? Is it good? And since my budget went very high, I've downgraded to an i5 3470, which I believe has the same performance as the 3570k but without overclocking abilities. Can you find a good cheap MOBO to pair with my 3470? Thanks a lot for your input, it's really helping
