Hello, i recently put a build together and I have have encountered a problem.

Sometimes the computer just freezes. Cant move the mouse, sound stops( sound keeps playing just stuttered), I noticed that usb ports stop giving power while these freezes occur (Mouse/keyboard lights are off).
The freezes are intermittent, i had one just before posting this and the one before that was this morning, and the one before that was last week.

What are the first steps in troubleshooting this computer.

i5 3570k
Asus P8Z77-V LK Mobo
Samsung 840 Pro SSD
16gb Crucial Ram
750 Watt Rosewill Capstone

Thats all thats in there.
The temperatures seem fine 35-37 Cpu at idle, Mobo at 24.
My first guess would be the motherboard is faulty because they stop giving power, but im not an expert i dont know. Can someone help me through my first builds first problem.

Edit: One more thing i noticed is my Case fans which are connected to my case's fan controlled(connected to psu) are still running during the freezes, i am unsure if the cpu fan is still running.

Try remove some of the ram, assuming you have 2 x 8gb whicvh is not usually a good combination as most motherboards perform better with modules of 4gb each.

If you are using 4 x 4gb then try using just 2 x 4gb ram.

If you are using 2 x 8gb of ram, use 1 stick in slot 1 and the second stick in slot 4, assuming a 4 slot only motherboard.
